Visiting Machupicchu is an unforgettable experience, the mysticism from the impressive stonewalls gives you a deep respect for the ones who built this monument, the ones that knew how to bring everything together like no one else in this world. The Inca city of Machupicchu is situated between majestic mountains in the upper jungle has an unmatched beauty and privileged spiritual force. The city hidden inside the tropics and built with a privileged geographic localization that combines sacred mountains, running water, a celestial alignment that is almost perfect, excellent stone work and a great number of farming terraces is really impressive.
Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes
The tour starts at 8:00 a.m. by picking you up from your hotel and steering towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We begin by visiting the typical market of Pisaq with its famous handy-craft market and then we visit the archaeological site of Pisaq with its picturesque cultivating terraces. After the visit we go to Urubamba where we will be having lunch (Opcional, $ 20.00 USD per person). After lunch we visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo where Inca descendants till live. After that we had to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the train that departs at 3:37 p.m., in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) we stay the night in a selected hotel.
Day 2: Tour to Machu Picchu – Cusco
We rise early and after breakfast we board the bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu at 5:30 a.m., at 6:00 a.m. we will be able to appreciate the majestic sun rise. We have a guided tour where we get to know all the important places of Machupicchu that lasts for 2 hours, after the tour we have free time to visit the citadel by ourselves. We can walk to the Sun Gate or the Inca Bridge (or Huayna Picchu if you like, it has an additional cost of 25 USD and has to be booked well in advance). We take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where we take our train back to Cusco (arrival in Cusco approx. 8:00 p.m.).
