Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Machu picchu – Cusco
The tour begins by picking you up at your hotel around 4:10 a.m. to bring you to the train station in Ollantaytambo where we will board the Expedition train that takes us to Machu Picchu Pueblo. We arrive at 7:40 a.m. and your guide will be waiting at the station to take you to the bus station and up to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Once we reach Machu Picchu you will get a 2 hour guided tour to get to know the best things about Machu Picchu, after the tour you can wander around by yourself and take photos until noon. You take the bus down to the village where you will have some free time to visit the hot springs to relax or the Manuel Chavez Ballon museum, these visits aren’t included in the tour.
It’s important to be at the train station 30 minutes before the train departs. Your train departs at 3:20 and you need to be at the station at 2:50 p.m. The train arrives in Ollantaytambo at 5:15 p.m. and the personal from Peru Rail will help you to get on the bus with the same name as the train, the bus takes you to the Wanchaq train station in Cusco where our transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
